Converse.  It is one of the oldest names in the footwear industry with its iconic five-pointed star trademark.  In high school, because I couldn’t afford a pair, I could only envy the cool kids who proudly displayed the star logo on the back of their Converse sneakers.  Two decades later (still without a pair of Converse, but that will soon change), I find myself standing in the middle of its 500,000 square feet distribution center in Ontario, CA (about 40 miles east of Los Angeles).  What am I doing here?
