Meet the Staff

The Birmingham, Alabama Snelling staff is dedicated to matching the right candidate with the right position. Our office has almost 50 years of combined experience and has won numerous team and individual awards. We are a Certified Women's Business Enterprise by WBENC South, a regional certifying partner of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council.  Our office received the Birmingham Business Journal's FastTrack 25 Award in 2002 and 2006 which honors the fastest growing companies in the Birmingham, Alabama metro area. We have also earned the Manager of the Year Award within the national Snelling network and numerous Recruiting, Staffing Management and Business Development Management Team Awards.

David Howard, General Manager and Co-Owner

David Howard has been with Snelling Staffing Services since he opened the Birmingham, Alabama office in 1998. He specializes in the placement of Professional, Office Clerical and Light Industrial positions on a temporary, temp-to-hire and direct hire basis. David has been recognized nationally throughout his tenure as a Snelling Recruiter of the Year, Staffing Specialist of the Year, Manager of the Year and Regional Manager of the Year in the Snelling Network. He is a Certified Personnel Consultant and member of the Alabama Staffing Association. David is responsible for staff development, strategic planning, operations and implementation of company goals and objectives. David is a 1987 graduate of Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.

Stephanie Howard, Staffing Manager and Co-Owner 

Stephanie Howard started with Snelling Staffing Services in Savannah, Georgia in 1995 and opened the Birmingham, Alabama office in 1998.  She specializes in the placement of professional, administrative and office positions on a temporary, temp-to-hire and direct hire basis. Stephanie has been recognized nationally throughout her tenure as a Snelling Recruiter of the Year, Staffing Specialist of the Year, member of the Staffing Team of the Year and Account Manager.  She is a Certified Personnel Consultant and member of the Alabama Staffing Association.  As President of Career and Staffing Solutions, Inc. dba Snelling Staffing Services, Stephanie gained certification as a Woman Owned Business by WBENC in 2009.

Stephanie serves on the AOM Advisory Board for Virginia College in Birmingham and the Family Self Sufficiency Program Committee for the Housing Authority of the Birmingham District.  She is a frequent speaker on job search techniques for the Department of Human Resources, Easter Seals, local colleges and other programs.  Stephanie is a 1989 graduate of Auburn University with a Business/Marketing Degree.

E. Gordon Huffman, Business Development Manager

Gordon Huffman joined Snelling Staffing Services of Birmingham, Alabama in 2008.  He is an energetic marketing professional with proven success in recruiting, business development/sales, marketing and business management.  He has worked successfully for large corporations, small businesses and even a start-up company.  Most recently, he worked for nine years in all aspects of recruiting.  He holds an MBA from Auburn University.

Elise Frey, Business Development Manager

Elise Frey joined Snelling Staffing Services of Birmingham, Alabama in 2008.  She worked successfully in various sales positions with accounts of several million dollars.  Her background includes sales for valves, power tools and retail products so she is familiar with a variety of industries.  Her goal is to build relationships, work on growing her territory by identifying new opportunities.  Elise has a degree from Auburn University in Electrical Engineering.

Ben Howard

Ben Howard, Staffing Manager, Industrial

Ben Howard is a Staffing Manager specializing in temporary and permanent light industrial positions including general labor, warehouse clerks and forklift operators.  He joined the Snelling team in 2007 and has several years experience as a delivery/installation tech and driver for a Birmingham firm.

Mishelle Marsh joined the Snelling Team in 2006 and provides administrative, marketing and staffing assistance to our team and candidates. She has over 20 years of combined experience with software and office equipment.

Bonnie Van Brunt joined Snelling Staffing Services in 1999.   She handles the temporary employee payroll, administrative/front desk duties and assists with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
