This quick and simple test could give you a big leg up in the interview process, providing tips from what to wear to what to say. Take a moment to brush up on your interviewing IQ – it might just make all the difference.

1. As a general rule, you should not discuss salary during the first interview.
2. Your cell phone, pager or any other electronic devise should be turned off prior to going into the interview.
3. Bring at least 3 clean copies of your resume for each interview.
4. An acceptable reason for leaving a previous company is because you want to work for a larger or smaller company.
5. It is recommended to wear perfume or aftershave to an interview.
6. If you were terminated from a previous position, it is best not to share this with potential employers in the interview.
7. You should always arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled interview time.
8. If you need coffee, soda or water, always bring it into the interview with you from home.
9. Bringing members of your family or friends to an interview is acceptable.
10. At the conclusion of the interview it is acceptable to leave without thanking the interviewer and to not worry about next steps.
11. Your reference information should be updated, accurate and accessible in your first interview.
12. A suit is always expected in an interview- no matter what the position.
