Why Businesses Need to Retain the Services of a Recruiting Company:

Scenario 1: A business owner decides she needs to bring on a sales person and she takes the following steps:

1.   Posts an ad on Monster and runs a classified ad in the Sunday paper. (costs total $1,000)
2.   She and her staff of 2 are flooded with calls on Monday by people responding to the ad. There are also 45 resumes that came online through Monster. (cost 3 or more hours of lost productivity).
3.   The list is whittled down to 10 candidates. The phone tag game begins. This takes 2 to 3 days (cost –3 more hours of lost productivity)
4.   10 initial interviews are scheduled. They last 1 hour each. (cost-10 more hours)
5.   The field is narrowed to 3. More time is spent arranging the 2nd round of interviews. The interviews take another 3 hours. (cost- 3 ½ hours)
6.   A candidate is selected and the reference calls are made and the background check is conducted. It turns out that the top candidate has 2 felonies on his record.
7.   The second place finalist is checked out and is offered the job. (cost- 2 more hours)
8.   After the second month the employee has to move to Iowa to care for his ailing mother and the process begins again. Total cost in excess of $2,000.00 and many hours!

Scenario 2: A small business owner decides to add a salesperson and she calls Snelling. Here’s how it plays out:

1.   The Snelling recruiter visits the business owner. He takes notes on the role and responsibilities that are expected of the sales person. He receives information on the compensation plan and benefits. He asks questions about the culture of the company to make sure that candidates will fit in.
2.   He posts the ad on Monster and in the newspaper. The Snelling staff answers the calls and reviews the resumes.
3.   He prescreens the candidates over the phone and brings in 5 candidates for interviews. They are given an assessment on their work behaviors.
4.   He presents 3 candidates to the client to interview.
5.   The owner and recruiter agree on the top candidate. The background check comes back clean. The candidate is offered the position and accepts.
6.   After the second month the employee has to move to Iowa to care for his ailing mother and the process begins again. The difference is that there is no cost to the owner. Because she paid her invoice in a timely manner, Snelling will replace the sales person free of charge because it is covered under the guarantee. Total cost is the negotiated Snelling rate and a minimal number of hours.
