I tell them that it is never to early to do both and that engaging in both activities will give them the upper hand when they hit the job market.After hearing Viki Cornelius speak at a job fair when I first moved to San Antonio I told myself that I would like for her to come speak to my communication classes when I had the chance. Viki began presenting her “professional resume” session with my B&P classes during the fall 2006 semester. Both times she has visited with my classes she has brought helpful handouts and has spoken with great passion and enthusiasm. She has also been gracious enough to critique each student’s work before she comes to class. As a result the quality of resumes is very high and I believe the students have a lot of confidence that they have gained another useful tool to make them standout when they graduate from college.
