Medical Billing


SNELLING is currently recruiting a Medical Billing Specialist for a local East Texas company. The Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for AR management and medical billing for insurance companies with a focus on collection calls to bring the balance sheet current.

This Medical Billing Specialist position will be temp-to-hire, meaning that SNELLING would work with you through the consideration and interview process and be your employer for a probationary period upon an offer being accepted. The major areas of responsibility for the Medical Billing Specialist include:

  • Follows up on unpaid claims following denials in order to obtain a settlement.
  • Keys billing and insurance data to ensure that the system is kept up to date and accurate.
  • Makes collection calls on aging or unpaid claims that have been filed.
  • Verifies accuracy and completeness of repetitive accounting documents, identifies discrepancies, resolves issues, and determines appropriate course of action according to established procedures.

Qualifications to be considered for the Medical Billing Specialist position include:

  • General knowledge of accounting/financial systems.
  • Experience in processing medical AR and collection calls.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to perform accounting data entry, information retrieval and/or inquiry under close supervision.
