Assistant Manager


Assistant Managers under the supervision of the General Manager are responsible for the operation of the business and rental offices.

Currently Established Responsibilities:
Reporting to the General Manager on time, appropriately dressed including name tag at the beginning of the work day.
Assisting in the supervising and the directing of the personnel in the business and rental offices in the procedures, reports, records and work schedules established y the Company.

Preparing or overseeing the preparation of all the following:

  • Resident move-in/lease file package after application is approved by General Manager 
  • Schedules for painting and cleaning apartments
  • Rental Vacancy and activity reports
  • Time records of all employees

Checking daily the condition of the model apartments, available "show" apartments and the rental office.
Assisting in the collection, deposit and recording of income, including all aspects of delinquent rent pursuit.
Being able to work weekends when requested.
Supervising the work of janitors assigned to the business office, rental office and model apartments.
Assuming the responsibilities of the General Manager when directed to do so by the District Manager of the New York Office. This includes walking the property each day the General Manager is unavailable to inspect for cleanliness, security, completing maintenance work and rent ready apartments.
Maintaining an inventory of all supplies, forms and equipment used by the business office and leasing office.
Enforcing company policies and procedures affecting the business office and leasing office.
Maintaining a current Advertising Log Book including all property advertising.
Making or overseeing follow-up calls to residents for lease renewals.
Performing such duties and assuming other responsibilities as may be assigned.

The Assistant Manager Must Possess the Following Qualifications:

  • Must be familiar with business office management procedures.
  • Must have prior experience in sales or leasing.
  •  Must have bookkeeping, record keeping and filing experience.
  • Must have general experience in real estate or property management.
  • Must have experience in the supervision of office or sales personnel.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the responsibilities and duties of an Assistant Manager of Bookkeeper
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • The Assistant Manager must have a current operational telephone number
