JOB DESCRIPTION

Forklift Operator

Snelling is looking for a reliable Forklift Operators for a large plant located on the South side in Calumet City, IL. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for moving freight with a forklift within a plant and warehouse environment.

Pay: $15

Schedule:

A: 6am-6pm Sunday-Thursday (12 hour day for 5 days)

B: 6pm-6am Tuesday-Saturday (12 hour day for 5 days)

C: 6am-6pm Friday and Saturday & 6pm-6am-Sunday and Monday (12 hour day for 4 days)

Forklift Operator Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts in loading and offloading trucks.
• Examine contents and compares with records, such as manifests, invoices, bills of lading and other records to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
• Prepare material for shipping ensuring freight is properly packed, labeled and staged in designated areas with relevant documentation. Record shipment data, such as weight, space availability, damages, or discrepancies.
• Reports damages, shortages, or non-conformance of material and/or documents to specifications.
• Route material to designated areas in the warehouse using work devices, such as hand jack, hi-lo, packaging equipment. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of warehouse and cargo.

Forklift Operator Requirements:

• 1 year of warehouse experience is required
• Prior experience in a warehouse environment and driving a forklift is preferred.
