CNC Machine Operator


Immediate openings in North St. Louis City manufacturing facility! Execllent opportunity for someone who wants to work hard and willing to work overtime. This position will be cutting product parts to size using CNC metal fabrication machines according to specified dimensions provided, to assure timely manufacturing of product to customer specification.


Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Cuts parts according to specified dimensions provided.
  2. Completes daily preventative maintenance on the machine.
  3. Have the ability to take direction.
  4. Assists in training of team members.
  5. Assures that parts being moved from the machines are labeled correctly.
  6. Other Duties
    1. Cleans and organizes department’s workstations.
    2. Completes tasks delegated by Metal Fabrication Supervisor.
    3. Asks questions/seeks advise from Supervisor when in doubt.
  7. Follows procedures in company handbook and other documents.
  8. Displays a sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks.
  9. Assures the part quality is acceptable.
  10. Assists in developing solutions to problems.
  11. Maintains good attendance.
  12. Is dependable and displays a strong work ethic.
  13. Works within a team concept and contributes to a positive work environment.
  14. Demonstrates a professional attitude in approaching job assignment.
  15. Assures the work area and aisles are kept clean and free of debris.
  16. Maintains a safe work attitude and environment.



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to use calipers, protractors and tape measure as well as good math skills.
  • Ability to move and transact material from inventory using a computer.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Has knowledge of materials and processes related to the company’s manufactured product.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be familiar with general departmental standards.
  • Must be able to work to high quality level.
  • Ability to do required mathematical calculations.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand eye coordination.
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to interpret job paperwork and instructions clearly.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to work productively and independently.
  • Willingness to cross-train and rotate positions effectively.
  • Ability to operate machinery and use tools safely and productively.


Education and/or Experience:

Must have high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years related industrial experience.

  • Lifting/Loading:  Carrying, pushing, pulling, raising and lowering of objects.
  • Fingering/Grasping:  Picking, pinching, pulling, folding, stapling, handling, and manipulating small and large object primarily with fingers and hands.
  • Repetitive actions in wrists and hands.
  • Position requires the use of near, mid-range and far vision with clarity at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less.  The ability to judge distance and space relationships and see objects where and as they are.  The ability to identify and distinguish colors.  The ability to observe up and down or to the right or left (field of vision).
