Shipping Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION

Shipping Supervisor    2nd Shift $40-45K Salary Knoxville, TN

The Shipping Supervisor will need to demonstrate a strong skill set and experience in day-to-day distribution operations; leading, motivating, and ensuring accountability and employee development.

Responsibilities for Shipping Supervisor:

  • Labor planning, scheduling, maintenance of facilities.
  • Evaluating Shipping operations and recommending projects to improve productivity and customer service.
  • Ensuring company fill rate goals are met through sound inventory audit processes, training and motivation of personnel
  • Selecting, hiring, and training new team members; reviews and retention of team members, coaching, and employee development.
  • Maintaining a positive work environment consistent with the core values and supporting our purpose
  • Leading Shipping Operations through effective communication of goals, objectives, safety standards and priorities.
  • Establishing and administering effective training in all areas of responsibility including safety training, employee performance training, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assisting with departmental expenses management (labor and equipment repair), proactively addressing problems before they occur.
  • Measuring and analyzing KPIs and ensuring employee are accountable; examples are picking accuracy, picking productivity, damages, aisle maintenance, etc.  

 

Shipping Supervisor will have:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or THREE or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to communicate with multiple customers, facilities and departments.
  • Ability to develop and produce a highly motivated team.
  • The ability to manage and react to day-to-day operational requirements in a professional and timely manner.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills along with the ability to provide clear and concise details regarding cause and effect, both verbally and written.
  • Accepts responsibility for establishing goals and achieving results within department, holding self and others accountable for results.
