Machine Operator

JOB DESCRIPTION

SNELLING is currently seeking candidates for a Machine Operator for a client in the Jacksonville, TX area.  The requirements for this Machine Operator position will have:

  • At least a year of prior production machine operation experience
  • Have prior forklift operation experience
  • Experience in a non-air-conditioned facility is a plus.  Must be willing to work in a hot environment and stand throughout the duration of the shift
  • Confident in using a computer to enter production data for report generation
  • Strong attention to detail, ability and desire to work well with others in a team environment is an essential requirement.
  • The ability to work the second shift and overtime, generally meaning 7 days a week at the current time

 

The benefit you receive in working with SNELLING is that we work with you to help highlight your qualifications that are going to be most valued by the client.  This position could lead to a full-time opportunity with the client, depending on the performance of the individual while working on our payroll.  Pay will be around $15/hr, depending on experience.

 

Daily responsibilities of the Machine Operator position include:        

  • Accurately record all raw material preparation data.  Safely and efficiently unload, transport and store raw material as it is received, carefully weighing and recording each batch.
  • Safely, efficiently and accurately load raw material into the machine according to written material formulas as needed for daily production requirements.
  • At the start of each shift, confirm which machines will be running and the formulation needed for each machine.  Check with the prior Machine Operator about any startups, changeovers or run-out times planned for the shift.
  • Safely and efficiently operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.  Diagnose material handling equipment operational safety or efficiency issues and actively involve the appropriate personnel to quickly assist in the resolution of these issues.
  • Record production data in both written form and in computer software so that production reports can be filed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working area.
  • Regular and timely attendance as scheduling requires. Overtime work is currently required to meet the production requirements of the company.  At the current time, this requires 7-day work weeks.
