Legal Secretary

A well-established legal firm in Downtown Baton Rouge is currently seeking a Legal Secretary to join the Corporate & Securities team!  Qualified applicants will have at least 3-5 years of legal secretary or paralegal experienceCorporate and securities experience a PLUS!!  Pay will start in the range of $40,000 to $50,000 per year, based on experience with flexibility for exceptional experience.  If you are ready for a career building opportunity in the legal field with BENEFITS, this could be the one for you! 

Legal Secretary Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Legal support for multiple attorneys
  • Comprehensive range of secretarial support
  • Drafting and composing letters and other correspondence to clients
  • Heavy word processing such as typing and formatting large agreements and redlining
  • Opening new matters and client files / maintaining existing files with up to date information  
  • Assisting with monthly client invoicing
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Interact with client and coworkers with a professional, can-do attitude
  • Various secretarial duties

Legal Secretary Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of legal secretary or paralegal experience is a MUST
  • Ability to work in a high pressure/ deadline driven office
  • Must be able to work independently and with a team
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • College degree preferred
  • MUST be highly motivated
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
