Role Summary
The Financial Services Officer is responsible for performing a wide range of financial services while fostering member loyalty. You will serve as a key point of contact for opening accounts, processing consumer loans, and performing various teller functions, always looking for opportunities to provide members with products and services that benefit their financial well-being.

This position would be a temp-to-hire opportunity through SNELLING with our client in Tyler, meaning that SNELLING would work with you through the consideration and interview process and SNELLING would be your employer for a probationary period upon an offer being accepted.
Key Responsibilities
- Member Account Management: Open and close accounts and IRAs, renew certificate accounts, assist with bookkeeping issues, and perform account maintenance.
- Consumer Lending: Conduct loan interviews, prepare and process applications, collect necessary documentation for underwriting, and fund consumer loans.
- Sales & Relationship Building: Proactively build a “book of business” by cross-selling banking, insurance, and investment solutions to meet sales and referral targets.
- Financial Transactions: Perform accurate teller functions, including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cash advances, official checks, and wire transfers.
- Operational Excellence: Balance daily transactions, resolve discrepancies, and ensure all services comply with credit union policies and legal regulations.
- Compliance: Maintain thorough knowledge of and follow all BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) laws, policies, and procedures.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Experience: 6 months to 2 years of similar experience, such as sales, loan processing, or credit union/bank teller or CSR roles.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe PDF.
- Good typing skills (minimum 30 wpm) and data entry (minimum 6,500 kph).
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills with a professional appearance and attitude. The ability to speak, read & write in Spanish is strongly desired for this role.
- Soft Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and a cooperative team player.
