Materials Manager – Interim

Pay Range: $50-62.50/hour (DOE)

Location: Fort Collins, CO

Position Type: Contract (8ish weeks)

How you’ll spend your time as the Interim Materials Manager:

Lead all material movement activities from receiving through production consumption and customer shipment.
Manage warehouse, inventory control, material handling, shipping, receiving, and logistics operations.
Maintain accurate inventory records through disciplined transaction management, cycle counts, and physical inventory programs.
Establish and improve inventory control systems that support inventory accuracy and optimized working capital.
Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, storage, replenishment, picking, staging, and shipping.
Manage point-of-use replenishment systems, supermarkets, and Kanban programs to support uninterrupted production.
Establish replenishment routes, response expectations, and escalation processes for material shortages.
Lead inbound receiving activities and coordinate resolution of shortages and discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams.
Direct shipping and logistics functions to ensure accurate, on-time customer deliveries.
Partner closely with Production, Planning, Procurement, and Quality teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost objectives.
Lead, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors, material handlers, inventory control personnel, and shipping/receiving teams.


Skills & experience we’d like you to have as the Interim Materials Manager:

5+ years of progressive experience in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Warehouse Management within a manufacturing environment.
3+ years of leadership experience managing warehouse, inventory, logistics, or material handling teams.
Experience supporting production operations through point-of-use replenishment systems and inventory control processes.
Strong understanding of manufacturing material flow, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and warehouse management practices.
Experience implementing and managing Kanban, pull systems, or supermarket replenishment programs.
Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
APICS CPIM, CSCP, or similar certification preferred.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while balancing competing priorities.
