Job Description
QA Inspector III Houston, TX 77035
Established manufacturing company looking for an experienced QA Inspector III to perform quality inspections on machined fasteners and components. This position is responsible for first article, in-process, and final inspections before products are released for shipment. The ideal candidate has strong experience reading blueprints and GD&T, using precision measuring equipment, and maintaining accurate quality documentation.
QA Inspector III Job Duties
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on machined parts and fasteners
Inspect finished products and determine acceptance or rejection based on specifications
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T callouts
Verify part dimensions using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators
Use go/no-go gauges, pin gauges, and optical comparators for inspection
Verify stamp markings and product identification
Perform hardness, tensile, and Charpy mechanical testing with training provided as needed
Perform Positive Material Identification (PMI) testing
Perform coating thickness testing
Document inspection results accurately and maintain quality records
Identify and report nonconforming products or quality concerns
Follow established quality and safety procedures
QA Inspector III Requirements
Previous quality inspection experience in a machining or manufacturing environment required
Strong experience with calipers, height gauges, and precision measuring equipment
Experience using OD, blade, and pitch micrometers
Experience with dial indicators, go/no-go gauges, and pin gauges
Experience using an optical comparator
Knowledge of GD&T concepts including positional, circular runout, and total runout
Ability to interpret drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5
Strong attention to detail and ability to make accurate accept/reject decisions
Ability to maintain clear and accurate inspection documentation
Steel-toe shoes required
No felonies in the last 3 years, no violent felonies ever
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
