Quality Manager

Job Summary

An experienced and driven Quality Manager is needed to lead all aspects of quality operations at a Texas-based manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for maintaining and auditing quality systems, ensuring compliance across all shifts, managing customer quality relationships, and leading the Quality team.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of driving continuous improvement while supporting a high-performance manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Control
Develop, train, and manage Quality Control Technicians in accordance with standard operating procedures
Oversee product conformance to control plans and PPAP requirements
Develop and maintain testing procedures and quality processes
Ensure timely and accurate quality dispositions (internal and external)
Manage calibration and suitability of all measurement and testing equipment
Ensure all technicians are properly trained and consistently executing testing requirements
Drive improvements in quality workmanship standards and processes
Quality Assurance
Develop and manage quality assurance systems aligned with internal standards and customer requirements
Ensure all approved products have proper QA documentation accessible to production teams
Implement and maintain SPC testing (e.g., Mattec) per control plans
Build and maintain strong relationships with customer quality teams
Lead customer claims from containment through validation
Drive continuous improvement and VAVE initiatives through quality
Leadership & Team Management
Supervise and lead a team of 5–6 quality employees
Train, coach, and evaluate team performance
Assign and prioritize work across shifts
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 5 years of experience in a Quality Manager or supervisory role
Manufacturing experience required (plastics industry preferred)
Strong knowledge of quality systems, control plans, and PPAP processes
Certifications such as Green Belt, CQE, or CQM/OE preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Exposure to dust, fumes, odors, and warm temperatures
Ability to navigate tight spaces around machinery
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and climbing
