Brake Press Mechanic and Set up

Position / Title:  Brake Press Operator

Shift / Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm

@ times they have OT that can be from 5:00-3:30 & if Saturday 5:00/6:00 – 11:00

Reports To: Brake Press Team Lead

Until the Rowlett facility officially opens, all Rowlett-based employees will report to work at the Bonham facility.

To help offset the additional commute, employees hired for Rowlett positions will receive a $2.00 per hour temporary commute differential while working in Bonham. The commute differential will end once the employee officially transitions to reporting to the Rowlett facility.

Pay Rate: $23 to $26, DEO, will consider up to $$30+ for complex tooling

Location: On-Site, will work in Bonham TX until the Rowlett facility opens

Position Summary

Tongrun International is seeking an experienced Brake Press Mechanic (Setup) to join our precision sheet metal fabrication team. This position is responsible for setting up CNC press brakes, selecting tooling, verifying first-piece quality, troubleshooting setup issues, and supporting production to ensure quality parts are manufactured safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has experience with CNC press brake setup, blueprint reading, tooling selection, and precision measuring equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities

Set up CNC press brakes for production according to work orders and blueprints.
Select, install, and align punches, dies, and tooling for each job.
Program or adjust machine parameters as needed to produce quality parts.
Perform first-piece inspections and make setup adjustments to meet specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
Verify bend angles, dimensions, and tolerances using precision measuring instruments.
Troubleshoot setup, tooling, and machine issues to minimize downtime.
Support operators with technical guidance throughout production runs.
Perform routine machine inspections and preventive maintenance.
Maintain tooling inventory and ensure tooling is stored properly.
Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
Follow all company safety policies and ISO quality procedures.
Qualifications

3–5 years of experience setting up CNC press brakes in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with Amada, Cincinnati, Bystronic, Trumpf, or similar CNC press brakes preferred.
Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
Thorough knowledge of press brake tooling, bend deductions, and material characteristics.
Experience using calipers, micrometers, angle gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple setups while maintaining production schedules.
Forklift experience is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Work safely around heavy machinery in a manufacturing environment.
