Production Planner


Temporary to hire opportunity in East Houston at an international, industry-leading company that provides high quality building products to customers and communities throughout the globe.

Hours are Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm, pay is $43k to $45k annually.


To perform production data input duties associated with the translation and entry of information from company sales order acknowledgements and quotations into Syteline creating the link between the sales module to the engineering shop module.  Interpret project quotations extrapolating appropriate information to accurately develop final billing price for customer invoices.




The Production Planning Administrative Assistant reports to the Project Manager and processes order entries and quotes entered by sales, creates folders, processes stock picking lists to shipping.  Will also create customized items for fabricated jobs with the appropriate bill of materials and routings into the engineering module of Syteline and calculates the appropriate pricing for invoicing on loaded unit price or lump sum jobs. – (Daily)


The position requires good product knowledge with comprehensive shop process knowledge.  The position must be knowledgeable and capable of navigating in Syteline within certain areas of inventory control, production control, sales and engineering modules.  The individual must be able to review master logs to calculate shipped percentages identifying the appropriate lump sum percentages for billing purposes.  The position is required to understand the difference between inventor able items and cost items for inventory purposes. The position requires review of order entries and quotations to ensure accuracy in calculating the final billing prices.  This position is responsible for interpretation and input of all critical data that is necessary for the manufacture and fabrication of all welded grating at facility into the shop sheet program.  This position requires accuracy, and work of good quality as no checking is done.  Quality of work directly affects material and product.  Will also enter data, setting up the project structures in Syteline for the engineering department, and the scheduling data for the production schedule.  Data input and setting up customized items for engineering and production directly effects inventory levels.  – (Daily)


This position requires intermediate math skills, solid data entry skills with excellent accuracy.  The position requires good working knowledge of computers.  ERP experience is preferred.  The position requires navigation through computer screens to create bill of materials, routings, and text on customized products, entering production orders for fabricated and painted material.  The individual must demonstrate good decision-making skills, capable of drawing inferences from situations and applying them to similar situations.
