Creel Operator



Job Description:


This position is responsible for feeding Tow Lines into the Stretcher. They are to maintain the highest standards in regards to Creel as well as to all company and safety policies. This position reports directly to the Team Leader and/or Production Manager.


Job Functions:


  • Work with another employee in keeping Creel Line at operating capacity.
    •  This includes but is not limited to:
      • Monitoring and controlling Tow Cans
      • Remove empty cans and replace with full cans
      • Observe lines to alert Stretcher Operator of knots or splices
      • Operating splicer
      • Monitor bath additive and replenish as needed
      • Assist Stretcher Operator as needed
  • Ensure implementation of all safety procedures and follow all safety rules and requirements.
  • Keep work area clean and free of safety hazards.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow employees to ensure safety of yourself and those around you while working.
  • Communicate with Supervisors/Management on any issues that arise in the Creel area so corrective actions can be taken immediately.
  • Assist in other areas of production if needed.


Job Requirements:


  • Ability to push heavy objects with the help of others or a pallet jack.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs/ladders and stand/walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a high noise manufacturing environment while exposed to the outside temperatures/environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must work well with others as part of a team.




  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-2 years prior experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred but not required.
