Security Officer - Events


Essential Duties & Functions:

Specific duties or tasks may vary and be documented separately. Additional security duties may be assigned and modified, according to business necessity. All assigned duties or tasks are a part of the essential functions unless such duties are unrelated to the functions listed, in which case they are considered other (non-essential) functions.

  • Assures the safety and security of event participates and attendees by observing and monitoring for unsafe or threatening conditions.
  • Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to client representatives, company management, life/safety personnel or public safety authorities as appropriate for the circumstances or as required by the post.
  • Assists with crowd control situations during special events, answers questions and assists client and individuals with reasonable requests.
  • Ability to multitask and switch gears according to the priority of requests.
  • Remains flexible to ever-changing event environment; adapts well to different situations.
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others, supports team to reach common goals, and listens and responds appropriately to the concerns of other team members.
  • Assume and secure a security post as instructed and serve as a general security presence and visible deterrent to crime and unruly behavior; detect suspicious activities and watch for criminal acts or hazards at or near assigned post, which may pose a threat to the event or event attendees.
  • Report all incidents, accidents, or medical emergencies. Respond to emergencies, such as medical and bomb threats.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Previous Security, law enforcement, military or customer service experience. (Required)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age, reliable, and punctual. (Required)
  • Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., mobile or home phone). (Required)
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private). (Required)
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States. (Required)
  • Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English. (Required)
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED, or at least one year of verifiable employment history, to include at least one verifiable employer. (Required)
  • Must maintain a professional presence – this includes personal grooming. (Must own a pair of black pants (not jeans) and black shoes). (Required)
  • No criminal convictions

Working Conditions and Physical/Mental Demands:

  • Must have the ability to provide high quality customer service and comfortable assisting with large crowds.
