Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all plant equipment, machinery, and facilities. This role includes performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to support continuous production and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on production equipment, kilns, conveyors, mixers, and other brick manufacturing machinery.
Diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine effective solutions to restore functionality quickly.
Install, align, and calibrate new equipment or components as needed.
Maintain and repair electrical systems, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and hydraulics.
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Record and document maintenance activities, parts usage, and downtime reports.
Collaborate with production teams to minimize disruptions and ensure equipment reliability.
Assist with facility upkeep, including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and other plant infrastructure.
Recommend process improvements and cost-saving maintenance practices.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
Minimum of 2–4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy equipment setting.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and perform physically demanding tasks.
Standing, bending, and working in varying environmental conditions, including heat and dust.
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when necessary.
