Quality Inspector
Location: Louisville, KY
Pay: $23 to $25
Hours: Mon-Fri 6:00am to 2:30pm, occassional Saturdays
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire / Direct Hire
Position Overview
Snelling Staffing is currently seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector for a growing manufacturing operation in Louisville, KY. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager and plays a key role in ensuring products meet engineering specifications, ASME code requirements, and company quality standards throughout the manufacturing and warehouse process.
The ideal candidate will have prior manufacturing experience, strong blueprint-reading abilities, and experience using precision measuring tools. This role requires excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work closely with production teams, suppliers, and third-party inspectors.
Occasional travel, overtime, nights, and weekends may be required based on production demands.
Key Responsibilities
Perform visual and dimensional inspections on incoming materials, weldments, and completed assemblies
Ensure products are inspected at designated hold points before advancing through production
Verify products meet engineering specifications and ASME code requirements
Notify production teams of accepted or rejected materials and products
Generate and maintain non-conformance reports
Verify material test reports against engineering and ASME requirements
Maintain organized physical and digital quality documentation
Compile data books using inspection and testing reports
Communicate quality concerns and inspection results across departments
Work closely with suppliers, production teams, management, and third-party inspectors
Assist with additional office and shop duties as needed
Qualifications
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings
Experience using precision measuring and inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and hardness testers
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to safely work in an industrial environment while wearing required PPE
Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of ASME Section VIII Division I standards
Welding and metal fabrication experience or knowledge
Experience with quality documentation and data book compilation
