Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Tax Analyst Consultant with specialized expertise in Worday, HCM/Payroll and ADP SmartCompliance This role involves managing payroll tax processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, experience with tax and payroll systems, and a solid understanding of financial concepts. Responsibilities
Process and review payroll tax filings in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
Review and validate payroll tax configurations in Workday, focusing on multi-state and local taxation for remote employees.
Payroll Tax Compliance & Configuration
Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to confirm correct employee taxation, including reciprocity and local tax obligations.
Tax Analysis & Risk Identification
Ensure accurate calculation of payroll taxes, including deductions for social security, Medicare, and other statutory contributions
Reconcile payroll tax accounts and prepare detailed reports for management review
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulatory changes affecting payroll processing
Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure proper integration of payroll data into financial statements
Assist in audits related to payroll taxes and provide documentation as required
Support the implementation of internal controls in compliance with SOX standards
Prepare journal entries related to payroll tax expenses and liabilities using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage
Contribute to process improvements for payroll tax workflows and reporting procedures

Experience
Proven experince as a Tax Analyst or similar role specializng in Workday HCM/Payroll and ADP SmartComplaince
Strong understanding of GAAP, tax law (including securities law where applicable), and regulatory reporting requirements
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and financial analysis tools
Knowledge of estate planning, Wills, trusts & estate law, LIHTC, mergers & acquisitions is a plus
Experience with financial report writing and interpretation of financial statements
Background in auditing, corporate accounting, or financial services is advantageous
Demonstrated analysis skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation accurately
Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills in handling complex data sets involving debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account analysis

Ability to adapt to evolving regulations related to payroll taxation and financial compliance
This position is integral to maintaining the integrity of our financial operations while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws. We seek candidates who are proactive problem-solvers with a solid foundation in accounting principles and payroll processes.
